How to sell (redeem) unit trusts in Moomoo — where the money goes, how many days
How to sell MYR Funds unit trusts in Moomoo (for example AHAM Shariah Gold Tracker and Cash Plus). The Redeem screen step by step, how many days until the money lands, charges, cut-off times, and why the money goes into your Moomoo account first, not straight to your bank.
Want to try tapping it yourself first?A 5-tap simulator built from real app screens. Mistakes are fine, no money moves. This question once came into Daus’s group: “I hold AHAM Gold Tracker in Moomoo. How do I sell it? Does the money go into my Moomoo wallet, or straight to my bank?”
Unit trusts in Moomoo (the MYR Funds section) are not sold with a Sell button like shares. They have their own button called Redeem, and how long the money takes depends on the type of fund.

The short answer
- Selling a unit trust = Redeem. Open the fund in the Funds tab and tap Redeem.
- The money goes into your Moomoo account first (Universal Account), not straight to your bank. Once it arrives, you withdraw to your bank.
- Timing depends on the fund. Cash Plus (a money market fund) takes one business day. AHAM Shariah Gold Tracker takes four. Other funds usually take up to five business days.
- Most funds in Moomoo have no redemption charge. Check the fund’s Fee tab to be sure.
Step by step
Open the Funds tab in Accounts
Tap the Accounts tab in the bottom bar. Under your account name are two buttons: Securities (shares) and Funds. Tap Funds.
The Positions list shows every fund you hold, under the heading MYR Funds. Tap the fund you want to sell.
This screenshot is from Daus’s account, with the values hidden.

- Your fund
Tap Redeem
The Position Details screen shows the value of your holding, your gain or loss, and a daily return calendar.
The bottom bar has three buttons: Buy, RSP, and Redeem. Tap Redeem.
If you set up an RSP that buys this fund every month, stop or suspend that RSP first. Otherwise the RSP will buy the same fund back on its next date. The My RSPs button on this screen takes you straight to the plan. How to stop it is in the RSP tutorial.

- My RSPs
Enter the amount, and read 'Credit to'
The top line, Credit to, shows where the sale money goes: your Universal Account in Moomoo. It does not go straight to your bank.
Fill in how much you want to sell, or tap All to sell everything. The line below shows the most you can sell, and the Fees (0.00% in this example).
This screenshot is the Redeem screen for the Cash Plus fund (Eastspring Islamic Income), which asks for a ringgit amount (RM Amount). Other funds may differ. For example, the minimum sale for AHAM Shariah Gold Tracker is stated in units (0.0001 units), so that fund’s field may ask for a number of units. Just follow what the field on your screen says.
Then tap Redeem at the bottom to submit.

How many days until the money lands? Check the Rules tab
Every fund has its own rules. On the Redeem screen, tap Rules in the top right corner, then the Redemption tab. Compare these two funds:
- T+1
- 9am cut-off
- T+4
- 12 noon cut-off
How to read it: T is the fund’s trading day. Weekends and public holidays do not count.
| Cash Plus (Eastspring Islamic Income) | AHAM Shariah Gold Tracker | |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum to sell | RM0.01 | 0.0001 units |
| Redemption charge | 0.00% | 0.00% |
| Cut-off | 9:00am | 12:00 noon |
| Price (NAV) confirmed | — | T+1 |
| Money reaches your Moomoo account | Before 8pm, T+1 | T+4 |
| Can cancel | — | Before 11:30am on day T |
So for that gold fund: redeem on a Monday before noon, the price is set at Monday’s NAV, and the money reaches your Moomoo account on Friday. Redeem after noon and everything shifts by a day.
For funds other than Cash Plus, Moomoo’s official help page says the money usually takes five business days to arrive. But the real timing differs by fund, including other money market funds (for example United Money Market Fund) that aren’t Cash Plus. So for your fund, open its Redeem screen → Rules → Redemption tab. The Amount posted date line and the Redemption Workflow show when the money is expected.
The Trading Rules screen for money market funds in the app (checked 7 Oct 2026, for example United Money Market Fund) says: “MMFs can be redeemed immediately to trade stocks, IPO shares, and mutual funds, all with no financing interest.” In other words, once you tap Redeem, that amount can be used straight away to buy shares, IPOs or other funds, with no financing interest. Don’t mix this up with something else: using Cash Plus as buying power without redeeming at all only works when margin and SmartSave-Sell are on, and that can be charged interest in some cases. So the safe way is: redeem first, then buy. Full explanation in the Cash Plus tutorial. To withdraw to your bank, you still have to wait until the money arrives.
Charges: the Fee tab
The Fee tab in the same Rules screen shows two kinds of cost:
- Transaction Fees — the subscription and redemption charges. For AHAM Shariah Gold Tracker, both are 0.00%.
- Operation Fees — the annual management fee, for example 0.5% a year for this gold fund. It is already deducted from the NAV every day. You do not pay it separately when you sell.
- Buy & sell charges
- Annual fee
After redeeming: check the status, then withdraw
- Check the sale status under Accounts → History → Order History → Funds. The status changes when the price is confirmed and when the money arrives.
- Wait for the money according to the timing in the Rules tab.
- Withdraw to your bank as usual. The full steps are in the withdraw tutorial.
Redeeming inside Moomoo doesn’t affect the reward, because the money stays in your account. What does is withdrawing to your bank. If you’re still within 60 days of your first deposit, and the withdrawal drops your net deposit (deposits minus withdrawals) below RM1,000, the new-user reward can be lost. Your money can still come out any time. If you want the reward, just keep that deposit in for 60 days. Details on the reward page.
If you activated SmartSave, newly arrived ringgit cash is bought into Cash Plus automatically at 7am the next business day. If you want to withdraw, pause SmartSave-Buy first. It is explained in the Cash Plus tutorial.
Before you tap Redeem
- A paper loss becomes a real loss. If the fund is down, selling now locks that loss in. Equity funds and gold funds move up and down. Money market funds are far steadier.
- You do not have to sell everything. You can redeem part of it.
- The price follows day T’s NAV, not the price you see when you tap the button. The actual price is confirmed after the cut-off.
This is a guide to using the app, not financial advice. When to sell, and how much, is your own decision.
